Enterprise & Supplier Development Programme

ESD is a combination of Preferential Procurement, Supplier Diversity, Supplier Development and

Enterprise Development programs to service business needs. This process includes proactive business process of sourcing products and services from previously disadvantaged suppliers.

In response to both local calls for more inclusion and diversity in the market, NKPI and WOVSA Social Enterprise initiated an Ecosystem ESD incubator programme through collaboration with key stakeholders The aim is to ensure that the black-owned SMMEs / Co-operatives especially women and youth participate in the industries supply chain and in the wider economy. The Incubator runs the following programmes;

  • Small Enterprise/Co-ops Formation Programme: This is designed for aspired young entrepreneurs who desire to venture into the business world;
  • Industrialisation Programme: The programme is designed for existing small enterprises & co-ops that are struggling to grow and unable to sustain their businesses;
  • Accelerator Programme: The programme is designed for well established businesses that need to grow and expand locally and international.

As part of our ESD implementation plan, NKPI and WOVSA will be ESD and Entrepreneurship events within various provinces.
